So a visit, for example, to Lydney YC, during their regatta, as part of a CYC official club cruise would gain you 6 points in total! That’s 2 points for visiting a Bristol Channel YC, plus 2 for it being during their regatta, plus 2 points for it being as part of a CYC cruise.

The Rules:-

  1. You must inform the Sailing Secretary of your visit within a month, or by 28th December – whichever is sooner.
  2. The competition runs from January to December (with a cut-off of 28th December to allow for admin)
  3. You must provide evidence of your visit to the satisfaction of the Sailing Sec. A photo or log book will usually suffice.
  4. You must arrive at the destination by boat!
  5. Points are awarded to the boat not to individuals, so you cannot accrue points whilst crewing onboard someone else’s boat.
  6. You can only gain points for visiting a destination once in any year, though your visit which gains you the highest number of points will be the one used.
  7. Additional bonus points may be awarded for impressive sailing achievements.
  8. The Sailing Sec’s decision is final!

The cup will be presented to the skipper(s) of the winning boat, in the Club Bar after the New Years sail.
